In need of a good home

I recieved a sad phone call this morning.  Kevin called to let me know that he has been extended 400 days.  We thought he would be home in February of 2013, but it is now looking like January of 2014.

The thought of having Gridley in a kennel for a year was really tough, but can't fathom keeping him there for two years.  So I am now looking to find Gridley a forever home.  This is going to be a difficult thing to do for many reasons.

Gridley needs to be in a single animal home.  He is great with people, but becomes very attached and then jealous of other animals in the home.  He is very active, currently over 100 pounds and still growing, he is a happy puppy, who needs to be able to run.

The ideal home for Gridley would either be in the country where he will have lots of room to run, or with a human who is active and will take him walking / running every day.  Possibly someone who works in a job that would allow him to roam the forest with his human.

I know the thought of giving Gridley up is killing Kevin, but he just can't keep him locked up.  If you know anyone who might fit the bill, please contact me at helpanoregonsoldier@gmail.com

The results are in...

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you who helped us have a successful day yesterday.  We earned $487 from the silent auction, $100 from the bake sale and over $200 in cash donations.  Plus an additional $100 in donations was received in the mail today.  That is 3 full months of kennel costs covered!

I had several people ask about the US Bank account, donations will be accepted there for the next 6 months.

We are talking about additional fundraiser ideas, which I will update on this blog as decisions are made.

Again thank you for your support, I know that Kevin's family was very impressed and grateful for the support shown at this event, and Kevin expressed extreme gratitude for the assistance that he is receiving.
